Hi Julie,
I am the great granddaughter of Benjamin Franklin & Mary L Coleman Ward, I noticed you downloaded things from my ancestry.com. I was wondering how they fit in your family tree. Would love to hear from you.

Hi Julie.
Thanks for the info. I'm a descendant of Jacob Thomas & following in Blount Co, Tn. Your research has given me some more clues, & also added complications! Thanks!

Your screen name kept popping up on Ancestry and eventually lead me to here. :) I'm as far back as Michael Castator, who would be my great-great-great-great grandfather. That's where this link popped up. Castetter is the name of my grandfathers' stepdad, so it's not by blood, but it is fascinating. :)

Dear Julie, I just found your blog while doing some random digging online. I too have an ancestor (sort of - he was the older brother of my great grandfather) who fought for the Union at Chicamauga and was captured, deemed not wounded enough to exchange, ended up at Danville VA and later died there from the conditions. I found your letter from your soldier to be chilling as I have several copies of letters Wilbur wrote to his parents before being captured. It is a great window into a brutal time in history.

Best regards,
Bryan Tinkle

A trip to Lincoln Center Cemetery this past Memorial Day had lead to all kinds of questions about R.E. Richards. I am the granddaughter of Harvey Richards, son of William.
Dear Julie -

I saw your posting at Ancestry regarding Mary Jane Young who married William Sutton.

I am interested in finding the source of the statement that she was born in Bath, Maine. (I have slightly different birth location)

In particular I am interested in leads that will help me identify Mary Jane's siblings (I know 2 but there are 3 other sisters and 3 other brothers who are presently unknown).

I can share with you the info that I have on Mary Jane's parents and other ancestors in the Young line.

Best regards,

Andrew

Hi.... I'm delighted to find your genealogy entries, as I am a great-grandaughter of Emma Malinda Sullivan and have never seen a picture of her as a young woman.

i am not sure we've ever met. I'm the only child of Lorene Burchett Sumption, who was one of Nellie Richardson Burchett's two daughters -- Nellie being the only sister of Pearl. I do recall visiting Pearl several times when I was growing up, and visiting Elma a few times as well. Since I lived in Des Moines, I knew Lola best. Of course I heard of Barb and Patty, but don't think we met. Now I live in Minneapolis, but I just returned from visiting Lamoni and Mt. Ayr over Memorial Day. I visited in Mt. Ayr with LaVon Thomas, now 96, last surviving child of Will Burchett and Mary Richardson Burchett, daughter of William and Ellen Richardson.

I am just beginning to gather up genealogical information to pass on to my children (two boys, Jeff and David) and two grandchildren (Emma, age 10, and Max, age 8). Is there some way I could get scans of your photos of Emma Sullivan, Pearl, and perhaps some of the other photos you might have? Do you have any photos of Andrew Richardson, or William & Ellen?

I would be delighted to correspond. Thank you for providing this information online.
